Sam Hunter is the creator of the Proverbial Challenge. She has been quilting since 1990, when she took her first quilting class to make a quilt that she hoped would impress the guy she was dating at the time - it did! Thus was the beginning of a passion for quilts and their artistry.
Sam was born in England and grew up travelling back and forth between there and the United States, finally settling in California in 1981. She proudly became an American citizen in 1987. Sam has many interests and passions, including teaching fabric dyeing, playing drums, driving a little (British Racing Green) convertible and hanging out with Steve, her awesome teenage son. She is committed to "playing big" in all that she does in life and encouraging others to do the same. The Proverbial Challenge is her way of promoting quilt artistry to the world.
