Patricia Blankenship

Pat Blankenship has been making quilts for over twenty years. Her pieces are in public and private collections. Her wall-hanging, "Christmas Cactus," won Best of Show in the 1996 Smoky Mountain/Dogwood Arts Festival Quilt Show. Another piece, "Rhododendrons," was shown on an episode of HGTV’s Simply Quilt in February, 2000.

She is a member of National Quilting Association, American Quilters’ Society, Smoky Mountain Quilters Guild, and the Foothill Craft Guild.

Pat is married to Bill Blankenship, a Knoxville architect. They have two children, Patrick and Katy. Pat specializes in children’s quilts and pieces that for the viewer. She believes that not every piece needs to have a philosophical meaning; if the makes you smile or laugh, than all that work has been worthwhile.
