I've sewn and enjoyed colors as long as I can remember, even before my first (hand cranked) sewing machine. Building doll clothes naturally developed into building and designing my own clothes. Fantastically enough in 1987, a ray of sunshine illuminating a display of quilting books in the library began my quilting experience.
After a brief time using conventional patterns, I was off and running with fabrics from denim to silk and a total fascination with the infinite design possibilities inherent in the fiber medium. My first awards were won in the category of three-dimensional art with the local Art Association. A challenge from an international publication led to international distribution of my patterns, and my designs being published in quilting magazines. Time has mellowed the focus of my work and I currently find creative fulfillment in simpler designs executed in colors and fabrics intended to satisfy only my own aesthetic sense.
