Edge of LightBy Meg Chobanian

"When you come to the end of all the light that you have, and you take the first step into the darkness of the unknown, you have only two choices: you will either find something firm to stand on, or you will learn how to fly."
I've always said that I'm not a gambler. The lure of Las Vegas has never spoken to me. But I find being truly creative to be the greatest gamble of all. To take my medium and allow inspiration to guide me into creating something greater than appears in the individual pieces is a gamble that fulfills my soul. Inspiration is all about taking that first step into the darkness with confidence that there is something worth finding in the void. This proverb carries the essence of my belief in inspiration. Being creative in any field is all about taking one step and then another into unknown territory with the assurance of firm footing. The courage that accompanies each step brings along light and confidence. Wings are the ultimate reward because they grow from intangible things like hope, inspiration and courage. There is magic in taking each step, finding firm footing and finding the wings inside ourselves. |
