Vicki Tymczyszyn

I began quilting 14 years ago by watching Georgia Bonesteel on PBS and teaching myself with books and patterns I could find. I had no idea where I could get info for quilting until one day, while in House of Fabrics, I saw a flyer for a new quilt guild starting up - I could hardly wait! Now we're talking! That was the first meeting of the Santa Clarita Valley Quilt Guild where I met some of my greatest friends and allies in the quilting world. Talk about opening up new doors - heck, doors, windows, whole new worlds! I started taking classes when I could from some of the 'big' names in quilting, Trudy Hughes, Sharyn Craig, Judy Mathieson, etc. Every class brought me more knowledge, more friends and more fun.

I make about 20 quilt tops a year and finish at least 10 of those. I know, I know I better get cracking or I will soon be completely overwhelmed with pieced tops. I love to machine piece, hand applique, embroider, hand-dye my own fabric, hand quilt, in short alomost everything about quilting is fun and inspires me. I hope to do more challenges in the future, this one was a blast!
