Mary has been exploring the wonderful world of fiber art since her retirement from special education teaching in 1997. Inspired by nature and its limitless palette, she fashions art quilts, wearable art and soft sculpture. She has experimented with natural arts and crafts all her life - vegetable dyeing, printing, weaving, collage, and now through continued studying, exhibition and teaching fiber art workshops, she keeps her artistic horizon expanding. Presently she enjoys working with African prints, having once lived in Kenya, and also focuses on experimentation in cloth portraiture. She loves to share her joy of working with color and fiber with others and currently has two of her art quilts on national and international tour.
