In a Marble Hall...By Ruta Butkus Marino

|
In a marble hall white as milk, Lined with skin as soft as silk, Within a fountain crystal-clear, A golden apple doth appear. No doors there are to this stronghold, Yet thieves break in to steal its gold. My work of the past several years has focused on food themes, as the fabric of my life is interwoven with the retail food business. My quilts tend to have a humorous element as well. It was a given that I would search for food riddles for this challenge. Several caught my fancy, but ultimately, I chose this verse by Mother Goose. I have been surprised that some people Īgetā the quilt right away, and others need to study it and absorb the riddle to solve the puzzle. |
