Sandy Harper

Since 1985, I have experimented with many different mediums including knitting, acrylics, water colors, pastels, oil pastels, colored pencil and pottery. I found my way to quilting through the urging of my best friend Marie Jenkins when, in 1993, I expressed to her my frustration with colored pencil. There has been no turning back since then, only learning more techniques and creating an ever expanding fabric stash.

Until recently I have been content to make traditional quilts for my family. These quilts quickly became coveted, constantly used, and loved. However, something was missing. I realized I was tired of following someone elseās patterns and that all the Īnewā designs were starting to look the same. So, using this challenge as a starting point, I drafted and created my own design. It was a thrill to see it come together and evolve. This quilt is just the beginning of my journey as I keep learning, experimenting, and designing.
