Paula's talents have always been most obvious in her use of colors, prints and textures in cotton patchwork and now in hand-dyeing and painting. An avid craftsman at heart, she uses unique color combinations instinctively in quilts, wall hangings, jackets and children's outfits as well as with painted furniture, home decorator projects and gardening accessories.
Ellyn's past contributions have been as a designer of applique and inventive embellishments on a wide range of decorative and award-winning wearables and garmentry. Though Paula has been doing the finish work on Ellyn's stable of Fairfield, now Bernina, art-to-wear outfits for nearly twenty years, passing this collaboration back and forth is a "first" experience for both of them. It has mutually exceeded expectations, each bringing fresh inspiration and creativity to the other's vision as well as the end to the end result. |
