Michele Scott |
Michele Scott is a dynamic quilt artist who specializes in teaching, lecturing, designing, and one-of-a-kind hand painted fabrics. Recently nominated as one of Professional Quilter's 2002 Teacher of the Year, you can find her original designs in McCall's Quilting or Quick Quilts magazines regularly. She began quiltmaking in 1994, and knew then that she had found her calling in textiles and color! She specializes in machine work and embellishments, but Michele's high energy can be found in her variety of classes that range from "Beginning Machine Quilting" to "Painting Landscapes and Much Much More." Her goal is to conduct positive upbeat classes that teach sound techniques and give all levels of quilters new confidence. She currently teaches locally and nationally for quilt guilds and shows. Her array of Landscape and Art Quilts can be found in many shows across the country. One of her high points was when she won Excellence in Fibre Art at the International Icarus 2000 Art Show in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina for her quilt entitled "The Original Flying Machine". She lives in Pitman, New Jersey with her wonderful husband, Scott and dog, Kelsey. In addition to all of her quilting activities, she is a special education teacher for Deptford Township Schools.
