Silk Purse From A Sow's Ear

By Cindy Harp

I seem to be a repository for peoples' cast-offs! I only have myself to blame when I never refuse things from people - and I have even picked things out from the trash. Therefore a lot of my projects turn nothing into something wonderful.

A friend gave me a box of salesman samples and I started stitching them together. It was great fun making yardage from the little pieces. Not only did I piece the background of this wall quilt but I made a vest and a jacket. The red raw silk purse is embellished with a wonderful piece from a thrift store party dress.

I do not know where this saying originated, but I know it applies to me!
